In my clumsiness (and anger because my mobo is pissing me off), I dropped my processor removing it from the motherboard on the very edge. There seems to be a tiny mark on the corner (green area). Is this part of the processor very sensitive?

I just hope its not messed up 8O

That's actually not part of the processor at all. But, like the guy above said, test it and find out. Likely it's fine...aside from the static damage you caused. :wink:

Should have had no effect. No moving parts (or shouldn't be!) to a CPU.

The green bit is the means to get the CPU core and Pins linked up. It's a structure on which capacitors and the core are mounted. I don't know of any other purpose for it!
