What is behind the chipset shortage, and is Intel on the right track?

With rumors indicating that Intel has recently adjusted its capacity strategies by putting more effort on producing high-profit mobile chips and phasing out some lower-end desktop PC-use chipsets, Taiwan chipset makers including Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) have been pushing to ramp up their production to fill the gap in supply. Memory upgrade slows Microsoft Vista right down

Vista has rather an illogical performance rating tool. It tests some of your computer subsystems and gives you a total score that can give you an indication whether or not your machine is fit for Vista. Read more

Editor's Corner: Nvidia’s Ion Revisited, 7.1 Ch. LPCM Fixed

Nvidia's Ion for the do-it-yourselfer launched last month in the form of Zotac's mini-ITX motherboard. Though sexy in principle, the platform had some teething pains right out of the gate. Chris Angelini revisits those issues and uses Ion as a real HTPC. Read more

The documentary film One-Six Right is premiering tonight in Hollywood.
It is about KVNY, the number-one general aviation airport in the world.
Hopefully the producers will get distribution for this movie. It
looks to be fantastic! The official website is: www.onesixright.com

Now there's a movie with a catchy title!
I hope I'm wrong, but I think it won't air outside of North America.
I too would love to see it, so I hope it will at least pop up on DVD a few
months from now.

It may not air inside North America if they don't find a distributor.
The good news is it will be available on DVD. If you go on the website
you can pre-order a copy and they will notify you when it becomes
available. I live about 3 miles from the airport and can see traffic
on the downwind leg to 16R. It has a great history. The airport scene
from Casablanca was filmed there. Amelia Earhart began a number of her
record flights from Van Nuys Airport.
