I'm pretty much in the same situation as you but I want to see some real benchmarks from Conroe before I go Intel. Maybe I can believe everything I've read about Conroe because the tech industry would never hype a product and make claims that aren't true. 
Step 1 is to see what the benchies are going to be for AM2.
