More Information

Hello, been quite some time since I posted.

I just bought a new Fujitsu Lifebook laptop. Quite nice with Core Duo processor and the centrino chips and ATI X-1400 (which benchmarks Halo 1.07 at 28.5 fps at 1280x800). However, the memory which is micron 5300 (5/5/5/15) in dual channel only delivers 3660 MB/s on SIS 2005/3 and Everest read is 4250, write is 3050, copy 3200, and latency of 100 ns. This falls quite a way short of 5300 MB/s.

Do you think this is not so great RAM or is the i945 chip is not so fast, or some other reason. CPU-Z and Everest indicate it's operating at the 667 speed.

Overall, a nice laptop, but wondered why the memory performance is so far away from possible throughput.
