Hello, I'm running Corsair 1gig 2x512 400mhz ram in my computer, but it's
clocking at 333mhz? My bios version is only 1002 at the moment. It's really frustrating, because there's nothing in setup to change this! Does anyone have any suggestions or tips?

That's a socket 7 mobo, right? What's your CPU?

There should be a place to change RAM speed, even on nForce2 mobos.

Mine's a Via Kt600, and I've got a spot for it in setup - umm, I think its advanced chipset, DRAM/Clock control. But I expect yours to be different.

But... if your CPU is clocked at 333 (166mhz - like anything except a 3200+ for that socket), then running the RAM at 333 is optimum (its in synch with the FSB). I doubt there will be much if any performance difference upping it to 400 in that case.

No, it's SocketA(462) mobo. My proc is an XP2800+. The manual clearly states it will do 400mhz, so i'm pretty confused why it doesn't do that. I've looked all over the bios and there's no option to change the FSB. That's why I'm asking if I should upgrade the bios possibly?

Sorry, that's what I meant, and its what i was talking about - Don't know why I wrote 7...

Have you looked at the manual for how to change that? I know it 'clearly states it can', but my manual also clearly states HOW... (well, as clearly as manuals can)

If you think an upgraded bios (check the mobo's mfg's website for bios stats) will do it, give it a try.

Assuming it is like all other a7n8x boards, then you have to change the setting from "optimum", to "user defined", I think.

Like was said though, if you have a 333 2800+, which of course you do, then you probably won't be able to get it to run at 200. There are some 3000+ cpus at 200 fsb.

I forget the multiplier on a 2800+. If it is 12.5 like I guess it is, then it's going to be hit or miss running at 200fsb.
