Well im buiding a new rig and the parts would already be here if not for some bank problems ( I HATE BANKS ). But thats not the issue, what is is that now I wont have the stuff before next week (if im lucky). So Im not going to order until monday and do alot more homework over the weekend on my build. I think its pretty good where its at, but researching more couldnt hurt anything. So heres the parts list... rip it up, tear it apart chew it up and spit it out for all I care, I just want advice with logic behind it. Please no fanboyish suggestions

Thats the bulk of it. Im probably going to add a logitech G15 (which I had originally planed on but didnt have the cash for the first time).

The main things I want suggestions on are:

PSU
GPU
RAM

Suggest all you wish, but those three things are the only things I can really see myself changing with a proper argument made as to why I should.

This is going to be my main gaming/workstation rig and will cost at the very most 1700-1750$ shipped with the G15 added. So what would you change and why?? Everything is comming from newegg also, so yea.

1) You picked a good PSU, so thats fine.

2) On RAM, I have no experience with G.SKILL i personally perfer Corsair XMS or OCZ Gold RAM.

3) As for GPU I am more of an nVidia fan due to the old age ATI driver hell (no longer an issue, but used ot be). For 512MB you would need to get a 7900GTX, but the 256MB 7900GT is a great card too.

Antec P180 will make you happy. It's quiet, great airflow, and it's sharp lookin. Personally, I just don't care for computers that you can see inside of. So this was an obvious choice.

However, given the three fans, you'll have to clean the front out more often, there is a lot of air moving through there.

Considered it, but the extra money over the relatively low performance jump isnt worth it IMHO. I was even considering going back down to the 256MB X1800XT as is 290$ retail and my card is 60$ more just for the extra 256MB VRAM... dont know if its really worth it.

I will contemplate it further though... the X1900 wouldnt be bad really If I could get it retail for no more then 400$.
