Has anyone here purchased a CLP-550(N) from Samsung Australia? I am
tossing up between the 500 and 550, and am curious about what toner
cartridges are included with the printer.

Their web info is contradictory. I have not had any response for almost 2
weeks from their web contact form. They do not have the usual sales/info
email address. I am really close to forgetting the whole thing and buying
another make instead.

The sales brochure
http://www.samsung.com/au/products [...] _sales.pdf
suggests that all printers in the CLP-500 series have the starter
cartridges. However,
http://www.samsung.com/au/products [...] ifications
reports that only the black cartridge is a starter cartridge.

If anyone from Samsung wishes to reply, my original questions are:
Does the specification web site only apply to CLP-550N, or does it apply
to CLP-550 as well? What cartridges does the CLP-550 come with in
Australia?

Chuen

You've made the right decision.
You feel like that now so it won't get any better.
I can tell you that the 500 comes with all 4 as "starter". Then you nearly
go broke shortly after to replace them.
See what else you can find. Samsung have absolutely no backup other than
frustrations from the shop you got it from.

Ops, they did respond. However my spam catcher caught all their replies.
Their response was that all cartridges in the CLP-550 are starter
cartridges.

Let me know if you find any Toner shops that offer refills for those
cartridges will you? Thanks.

pcpro.co.uk this month did a review on colour lasers which you might
find helpful and which you can probably find on their website.

In Germany you get the 550 with full toner.

I am in the market for a color laser in the US.
The Samsung clp-5xx series seems to fit the bill.
What do you think about this?
Are you happy with yours.

Thanks
