I have this Compaq:

SR1250NX

So far I have added a 250gb SATA HDD and 2x512mb PC3200 RAM.

I had to remove the CD-ROM drive in order to add the 250gb SATA.

If it's possible to swap the Pentium D 805 in, I will definately be adding at least 1 more HDD and another DVD burner.

So I need a new case with these requirements:
2 DVD ROM slots
3+ HDD slots
USB, 1394, speaker and mic front connections
Card Reader spot
CHEAP as possible

If the 805 is compatable with my mobo this system will hold me over till Conroe/AM2 are down in $$$.

Any case suggestions?

Hi Noya,

If you want a case with the specs you mentioned, then you have a few choices actually. One of the best cases I've seen is the Cooler Master Stacker full tower - but the price may not be competitive. You may want to check it out.

According to HP Partsurfer your PS is 300W model 5187-6114 and that seems to have 5.5" x 5.9" x 3.4" dimensions... might be close enough but you may have to get a new power supply as well.

To give you some ideas, I have a FSP 450W in a CM Centurion 5 and there is plenty of room for expansion, and is super quiet to boot. The CM stacker is nice too, but a bit out of my price range...

Yes, Compaq uses standard power supplies. Yes, they are kind of on the low-quality side, so adding a bunch of components might require an upgrade.
