Is it possible to set up two HD not in Raid but Master/Slave??



MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
AMD 64 3200+
PQI 1gb Turbo
ATI X700 PRO PCI EXP
Seagate Barracuda 120 Sata X2 (well one right now)

Just plug the second harddrive in and your pc will recognize it.

are you sayin that i plug each drive in separetly....i now its not like IDE ribbon cable...both on one ribbon...are you sayin as stated above ..plug them in normal and they w/ be recognised??

just want to dump all music and movies on one drive.......the other for normal stuff......

the comp is running on 1 sata drive, when i plug in the second it dosnt apper in "my computer" but when i look in the hardware, the comp says its there? but i dont have any options or access to it?

You need to format the drive.
if you right click on my computer, left click on manage you should see disk management on the left hand side. if you click on that it should show what drives windows can see. at that point you can right click and format your second drive if it has not been done yet.

i hooked the second drive up and went were you told me to, it shows the drive but no "Red X" it says its "unallocated" and when i right click it only gives me propertys and convert to dynamic disk ( what is that) whats next?

actually before you can create the partition you need to initialize the new drive its something odd you have to do with windows
right click on the drive click initialize
then right click after that on the drive again click format
chose ntfs
leave everything else as it is and then click finish
