A while back I asked, something ( involved in a flood, I lost a bunch of
replies/computer) of the following.

Looking to buy on EBay or locally (if possible) a laser that will do:

11x17 (tabloid) pages

at least 600dpi if not 1200dpi

a semi-workhorse...maybe up to 4000+ pages a week

refillable with folks like www.tonerrefillkits.com (or whoever you suggest)

speed is not of the essence, but nice to have

HP LaserJet 4si or 5si.

LJ 4Si only support up to legal 98 1/2 X 17. The following HP printer will
support 11X17:
LJ 4V
LJ 5Si
LJ 5000
LJ 8000
LJ 8100
LJ 8150
and LJ 9000 Series.

The 4si only supports up to 8 1/2 by 14, which is Legal. Personally I
have a Laserjet 5000 and a LaserJet 4000. I have a duplexer on the
4000, would love to have one on the 5000. 5000 does 16 ppm and up to
1200 dpi.
