Hey everyone, I finally decided to start overclocking my rig. I am doing 5Mhz increases and am getting errors with SuperPI Mod 1.4 and Prime 95. It's only running about 35C Idle, 40C under load. I have been running it for about 30 minutes, but no lock-ups. I am using x11 Multiplier with 230Mhz HTT. My Vcore is at 1.36 (which is stock), but sohuldn't I beable to hit 2.6Ghz with air and be stable without upping the vcore? Can I go higher while stable? My last stable config was at 225Mhz HTT @ 2.48Ghz. My spec's are:

AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego, XP-90C with TT Silent Cat Fan
1GB(2x512MB) Mushkin Redline XP4000
DFI Lanparty UT nF4 Ultra-D, Emprex 16x Dual-Layer DVD Burner
250GB Western Digital SATA2 16MB Cache HDD
120GB Western Digital ATA inside Vantec Nexstar 3 Enclosure
Tagan 480-U22 PSU, X850XT PE, Audigy 2 ZS Gamer Edition

Any help is appreciated.

do as wusy sez, try not to exceed 1.4V and do it in the smalles increments as possible

another path would be increase the latencies (but I don't think it would help due to the nature of your memories)

Ok, thanks, its at 1:1 now. But do I have to up my RAM voltage to 3.3v? It's at 2.6v right now, but I need active cooling which I don't really have. My heatsink is on top of one, but the other one is like .5 to 1inch away from being under the heatsink...

Right now I'm at 2.5Ghz with no errors, if I go higher than that I will get errors. My V-Core is at 1.392. My RAM is at 3.25v at 2-2-2-5 1T. I'm getting about 38C Idle, and the highest it's gotten under load is 43C. Should I go higher with my V-Core?

Hey is that an E6. I have one and i had to stop at 2.53ghz at 1.45volts, which is my max voltage. Im beggining to think that these new chips just dont oc as high as the older E4. I wish i knew that before i bought it  .

My revision says E4 in CPU-Z, I did hit 2.53Ghz, ran fine in Prime95 for 2+ hours, but I get errors in SuperPI. But it's not like I use any programs that use what SuperPI tests, so I'm going to just keep going, temps are looking good hitting about 35C while idle, and 42C Under load.

Did you try upin the volts a bit? To say 1.45? Your temps look good enough to do it. Then check stability again.
