After settling on a Adaptec's PCI-X/133Mhz Serial ATA II RAID 1420SA, I want a drive that allows the 300 MB/s speed. Manufacturers label there SATA drives as either SATA II or SATA-300. Aren't they the same?

SATA 300 is giving you a 300MB bus, but NCQ is usually disabled or some other feature not enabled, thus it is called SATA 300 and not SATA2
