There's another Sapphire Radeon X800 GTO just like it on newegg.com for only $94, but it's just 128MB, but it's a damn good deal if you don't mind half the memory (I don't, for now.).

Meh, thats alright, depends what shipping costs etc.... plus its ebay..

You should consider a 7600 GT though, totally worth the extra $

Look around for a cheap X800GTO2, a few weeks ago they were $192 CAD at ATIC, unfortunately they are like $230 now for some reason.

Also, what games do you intend on playing? You might be better off getting like a 7600 GS, or even a cheap 6600, and then saving up for something better.

I'm not a huge gamer: I just want something that can play anything I may want to play reasonably competently.

I haven't found better than $145 Canadian (includin taxes and shipping) for an x800 GTO /w 256 MB GDDR3 RAM and it's doubtful that I will based on the research I've done.

I bought it already...

As for the 6600 GT, while I know it's cheap and that two of them running in an SLI solution smoke any other mid-range solution on the market, my motherboard, having only 1 PCIe 16x slot, does not have SLI support.

Dual 6600GTs are joke. Mid range? 6600GT is a low range, dead card. A single 6800 (plain) is probably better, and the proce of dual 6600GTs can get you a 7800GT, maybe even a 7900GT.

X800GTO is a good card, and if you trust eBay, then it's a good buy.

The Ti4200 I bought on Ebay has had an excellent 21 month run.

But now that I have a bit of money, it's time to pass the torch to a Dx9 card.
