They're apparently good overclockers too. Just make sure that your motherboard supports Revision E5 CPU's before you buy it.
Would that even work on a regular s754 mobo with out a voltage adjust in the bios?
Not sure as I have no experience with Mobile A64's. You have to do a little research. From what I do know, there is only a few boards that will run this chip. It may also require a modded BIOS to even use it at all. I know I would be 100% positive that my board will run this chip before I dropped $300 on it.
Ahh...Did a quick Google search and came up with this:
Looks like the 3700+ is the best you can do on that KV8, SteveO. Abit wont have anything to do with it. DFI seems to be the way to go for this mobile chip.
heres my current setup KV8 Pro mobo
Sempron 3100+
512mb generic ram
BFG 7800 gs
2 Maxtor Diamond Max 10 200gb sata setup as raid 0
I/O magic dual layer dvd rw
LG cdrw
floppy
420w psu
Im going to upgrade to some good ram probably 2gb crucial, another dvd player, 2 more hard drives so i can have raid 0+1, and the fastest Cpu i can get for the mobo. what do you all think.
