Whats the fastest cpu i can get for my kv8 pro mobo. I think its a athlon64 3700+

That's it, all there is and it has 1MB Cache too. I'd love to get one.

They're apparently good overclockers too. Just make sure that your motherboard supports Revision E5 CPU's before you buy it.

Great find, that baby is sweet. With my water cooling system on that 2.9GHz + shouldn't be a problem.

Not sure as I have no experience with Mobile A64's. You have to do a little research. From what I do know, there is only a few boards that will run this chip. It may also require a modded BIOS to even use it at all. I know I would be 100% positive that my board will run this chip before I dropped $300 on it.

Looks like the 3700+ is the best you can do on that KV8, SteveO.  Abit wont have anything to do with it. DFI seems to be the way to go for this mobile chip.

you guys lost me i was talking about the a64 3700+clawhammer. I dont think its a mobile chip.

Some Mobile CPUs will work in desktop motherboards, the mobile is the fastest you can get in 754 pin. One person said he was able to hit 3.1 GHz !!!!!

Im going to upgrade to some good ram probably 2gb crucial, another dvd player, 2 more hard drives so i can have raid 0+1, and the fastest Cpu i can get for the mobo. what do you all think.
