I am looking at the Dell Axim X30 and had a question about wireless
access. I read a older review that stated that when wireless was
actived, it turned on both Bluetooth and 802.11. Did Dell fix this so
one could only turn on the option that was needed?
This is more of an issue with power drain as I don't want 802.11 on
when only using BT!

Both are turned on by the same button but you can switch off bluetooth if
desired. There is a small blue icon on the lower right corner. Click on it
and a menu appears with an off feature.
You use this utility instead fo the WirelessPower that comes with the Dell.
You se the power button to run it and it only turns the WiFi on and off.
You manage the BT from the BT icon at the bottom of the Today screen. I
haven't had any problem with it.
