Hi folk!

I've got an Asus Pundit-R (current BIOS version) and an Intel/478 P4/2.9Ghz CPU. I would like to under-clock the CPU in order to reduce heat. I already replaced all fans with better quality ones and have put additional wholes, but sometimes, sporadically, the CPU fan roars up very noisy for 1-2 seconds. I concluded that I need to reduce the heat... If I could reduce the CPU speed to 2.4Ghz or so I'm sure it finally could be a nice office computer.

The problem is that the CPU clock rates are locked in the BIOS and I have no idea how to release that lock.
I heard that there's a pin on the CPU which, if removed, should release that lock so I could set the FSB/multiplier in the BIOS.

Any ideas?

Sorry if my question was asked before. I browsed the forum, but it's just tooooooo much information.... heeeeelpp ;-)

David
