advice on a new pc

i'm planning on building a computer mainly for gaming and watching dvds for under $1500. i've been looking at the parts for a while and this is what i'm thinking about going with.
AMD Athlon 64 3200
Abit AX8 VIA K8T890 motherboard
2 gb's of dual channel patriot signature ddr400
HIS Hightech IceQ II Radeon X800XL pcie video card
Samsung dvd-rw
Aspire X-Cruiser case
Aspire DarkSide 600w psu
Logitech LX300 cordless keyboard and mouse
Logitech Z-5500 5.1 surround sound speakers
Seagate Barracuda 250gb sata hard drive
ATI HDTV Wonder tv tuner

i would appreciate any advie on it

that doesnt seem like good parts for 1500
I have a less of a buget and I am getting a opty 165 with a x1800xt or 7900gt
I do have a monitor already but I didnt see that on your list

$220 nice speakers w/ onboard sound?

Also, i'd try to opt for atleast 7900gt or something close to it for gaming.

thanks for the advice, i had just read the reviews for the other ones and they sounded pretty good. by the way would a 7800gt video card be good too? what's the difference between the athlon x2 and the opterons? i was also thinking about getting the soundblaster x-fi or audigy sound card.
