As we all know, AGP baragins have been rare for a while. Well, back in stock finally is the GeCube X800XL VIVO AGP for $189 shipped. Best sub $200 AGP IMO, but I doubt they will last.
Yeah to me it's nice to see a decent AGP card alternative to spending almost $300 on a 7800GS. And like you said it sure beats the 6800GS/X800GTO's that have been the best sub $200 AGPs for a while, and makes for a great upgrade for those who are still reluctant to switch to PCI-e.
My friend and I decided to buy this card, but later in the day i realized that the x800 series doesn't have Shader Model 3.0. Will this matter? I noticed at the same time the 6800 has SM3.0, but i know that was about a generation before the x800. We are stuck on the X800 and the 6800 because we are on a AGP 8x. Only other choice is the x1600, but that loses on pretty much all the tests compared to the x800.
Which should I get x800 or 6800, or is there another option?
