Game prog

Hey dudes,
Sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this in.....

I am really interested in Game prog in DirectX... so if any of u vets can suggest any books tht mite help me out??
I am a total beginner.. so i really need something tht can teach me stuff rite from programming using the WIN32 API (NOT MFC). I am pretty well conversant with programming using C++ and C ,but not windows prog!
I heard of a book called "Game prog for Dummies" by andre lamothe, but i cant find it in Kolkata,INDIA (not a big surprise). Also plz tell me the price of the book and where can i buy it from!!

Check out FullSail.com - they're a huge school for programming games and digital arts. They should be able to at least give you an idea of what you want.

Give them a call too, they'll give you almost any information you want. They want people to have experience when they come to their school, so they'll tell you want you want to know.
