I'd rather have a brand new Z06 thats $5000-10000 less, .9 seconds faster 0-60, and over a second faster in the 1/4 mile. Not to mention it'll own an M6 around the track. Plus the fuel economy is good enough to drive it every day and not cry (16 mpg city, 26 mpg highway).

Yeah. You're right. It only holds the world record for the fastest lap time around Nurburing for a production vehicle. Pfft. Shitty.

Do you mean 124 mph or kph? 124 kph is only 77 mph. Thats nothing. I do that on the highway going to work. And theres a big difference between that and 140 mph which I've done as well. I won't go over 140 mph on a public road since I don't trust the road enough.

M3s only have an inline-6 with 333 hp. Theres a huge difference between that and a V10 with 500 hp (not to mention the torque difference). Sounds like another spectacular car wreck waiting to happen. Also sounds like this guy is young and has never driven a powerful car before.

Not saying I'm old at 23 but I've driven my 89 430 hp Camaro, my dads 330 hp 02 WS6 Trans Am, my brothers 350 rwhp twin turbo Supra, and a guys 385 hp 01 Corvette Z06.

The Z06 will go through a corner faster than an M5.
Z06 is at .99g on the skid pad, and the M5 is at .9.
The Nissan doesn't even get to .9.
Of these cars I'd take a Vette.

I'd sell myself to science, sell the house, PC, mom, dad, brother and sister to buy a $450,000 Porsche Carrera GT.

Talking about bragging......
Ever heard of a Honda X11 ? 140 HP on about 225 KG
I dont even want to spend that kind of money on something what is just a car, yet i'll beat you flat out from 0-120 mph............only thing you beat me is top speed, if theres a limiter on that M6 we have about the same top.
Naked bike , based on a slightly detuned blackbird engine....
Boy oh boy...that M6 will get smoked, and I can buy at least 6-7 bikes for the price of that M6......a huge waste of money if you ask me...
And no, i'm not jeaulous , i just got other plans with my money then buy cars.......
But hey...its your money... :D
No hard feelings....just i'm very sorry I live in Belgium , I dont see M6's here , i've seen a few m3's but that's it........
Those M3's were pretty easy though , would love a crack at an m5 or m6.
(not the old m5 though, the V8 one , they only got 400 HP)

You guys all suck! I own a 98 Toyota Corolla (its zippy-er than what most of my friends have, but that's not saying much). I'd like to upgrade it somehow to make it faster, but just about the only thing I could do is super/turbo it and that would cost about as much as its worth... especially since I'd probably have to upgrade the tranny too. The vehicle with the best power/mass ratio I've driven is my dad's '05 Tundra DoubleCab w/245hp and 325lb-ft. That thing can burn rubber but doesn't really have that much 'GO' to it... its too damn heavy and the gearing is probably too tall. My friend's dad drives a MB C32 AMG that I have ridden in which was pretty fun, but it mostly makes me jealous.
Someday, when I get a REAL job... :(

edit: I'm sure that with enough $ you can get the computer into the M6... what kind of specs were you thinking of? Good luck!

I love the "old" M5. Something about it just seems AWESOME to me. Maybe its just because I like the look of the previous gen 5 series better than the new. Plus, 400hp would be more than enough for me... I only have 120hp on my little commuter.

Z06 is great, if you live in Nevada, where there are no corners........

M5 pwns Z06!!! Nissan Pulsar GTi-R pwns all!!!

Do you live in fantasy land of GT4 and the Fast and the Furious (or as the local law enforcement around here calls it, the Stupid and the Dead)?

I'm not going to argue with you clowns. Spit out facts if you think you know something. Leet speak and claims don't mean anything. You're talking to a guy who actually likes to drive cars in the real world, not some video game.

And yeah. MrCommunist. Bikes are faster than cars. I just like having 4 wheels and a steel cage around me. People drive too crappy here to ride a crotch rocket. Had a guy lying on the road dead outside my old apartment complex once because he t-boned a car that pulled out in front of him (at least thats what it looked like had happened).

Dude, calm down, just havin' a joke. I agree with you, I think that people who ride bikes really deserve to crash them, but 'Nissan Pulsar GTi-R pwns all' was not meant to be taken literally.

I've never driven a Z06 but have heard bad things about it's handling. M5 is probably the fastest thing I've been in, although it was modded. A guy I know used to work for a Lamborghini specialist and they re-routed the air-con into the engine for a 'supercharged' effect. Not sure of the technicalities, but that thing went like ******************.

I just really like the Pulsar, my bro's is awesome fun, it's cheap, and it's really 'upgradeable' - you can get up to 1000bhp out of them!!

M3s weren't designed for straightaway performance. They were designed for handling/cornering, which they do very well. VERY well. 330 HP from a straight 6 is not bad considering its normaly aspirated and the car's lightweight of about 3500 lbs. The BMW M3 CSL boosted the sixes horsepower to 360 and lowered the weight even further to about 3060 lbs.

IIRC they are supposed to be redesigned and get V8s on the next model year.

I'm not familiar with the Z6, only the Z4 which doesn't come close to the performance levels of the M3.
