What are some of the best addon flight models? such as AIR and CFG
files that match the real AC? Pick any category... and also mention
examples that are both FS2002/FS2004 releases and still available.

I'm not a real pilot, so I depend a great deal upon the opinions of
the real pilots here to help me understand just how "as real as it
gets" my various add-on planes are in terms of flight dynamics.

That said, it seems that all the "RealAir" planes are very nicely
modeled in this regard (I do have all the RealAir planes, and they're
all a great pleasure to fly in the sim). I also have several of the
Flight1/Dreamfleet GA planes, and these are generally well respected
in terms of flight dynamics as well.

The add-on planes I have and enjoy a great deal are:

RealAir:

Super Decathlon
Scout
SIAI-Marchetti SF.260
Spitfire
Cessna 172 Skyhawk (modified default C172)

Flight1:

Cessna 152
Piper Meridian
Cessna 421 (Golden Eagle twin engine)
Cessna 441 (mixed feelings; especially about the graphics)

DreamFleet:

Piper Archer II
Cessna 177 (Cardinal)

Hi

For me the best is the Eaglesoft Citation X private jet,
if you dont need a full working FMC,
the plane come in four version to match to power of your computer.

That's some gen-av collection you have.

How about some recommendations from the group for the Iron Knuckles
DC-9 on www.flight1.com ? It would seem fairly well detailed and still
framerate friendly. How's the flight model? and the gauge calibration?

p.s.
how many of you tinker with payware? :) or fly straight out of box?
