I recently purchased a Dell E510
with the following vid card
128MB PCI Express™ x16 (DVI/VGA/TV-out) ATI Radeon X300 SE HyperMemory

which I believe has a DVI-I dual link connector that I thought was compatible with a DVI-D dual link connector because my male DVI-D dual link was able to connect to it.
but when I hooked it up to my monitor

I get nothing, when I'm in display properties, the OS doesn't even detect my DVI is connect to a display

what's going on?

Thanks
