Has anyone else had this happen? My old system which has a 3800+ in it with an MSI Neo Platinum SLI board , etc etc... after playing with CPUz and some other programs now shows my processor to be a 7000+

I thought it was strange and I recently swapped Mobo's with a friend of mine for his EVGA SLI board because I'm a nice guy, and he wanted the onboard Creative sound chip. I was curious if the proc would show up as a 3800 again and nope 7000+ still , still running @ 2.4 and still showing up in everest and 3dmark as a 7000+

I am wondering what the culprit was , (besides me) lol

Anyone?

It's a single core, bought it in March 2005, It runs great just displays the wrong name in properties. /boggled

I am wondering if there was a windows update that did this?? Damn you windows auto update!!

no lol, retail box at PCClub.com local store. like I said before , it used to report it was a 3800 now it says its a 7000 same speeds , nothing has changed but the name , nice try though.

Is there and on chip memory in an A 64 that can be cleared or re install proc drivers?
