K8TNeo2Pro MS-6702E wont find Maxtor DiamondMax10 300g sata2

For some reason Bios won't auto find the Maxtor DiamondMax10 300gb sata2 Hard drive. When I boot from another HD and get into windows, go add new hardrive, both drives are found and identified. Drive in question is identified as maxtor 6 v300f0 scsi. Any idea why BIOS won't recognize it? I haven't updated the BIOS, but I doubt that it is the reason.

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Also is it possible that the drive is busted?

  1. This motherboard could just support SATA1, and when you use yours SATAII HDD, you need to set the right jumper and then use it.
