I am sure that the solution here is really simple....but I have a 7600GT with dual DVI, I have connected my 17" AOC LCD (dvi connector) screen, as the primary monitor and my 17" Phillips CRT (with a dvi adaptor) to the second DVI head on the graphics board.
LCD works fine, CRT is just a black screen...
When I open the "display Properties" it only shows as one monitor being recongised and I am not given the 1 , 2 screen option...?
All the guides that i can find assume that as soon as you plug in your second monitor it will be recognised in these display properties! I am confused???!!
do i have to enable something in the nView properties? how do i do this? can anyone give me some directions? :?:
First you gotta go to ur driver tab and select destop management and run the wizard ( i believe it is the third button) and follow the step. I suggest u tried DualView first to see if both monitor are okay or not. Then choose your resolution and color depth.
One more thing. When i chose 10x7 as default my secondary output would always be 12x10 no matter what and if i change resolution (primary or secondary) the second screen just go dark.
i dunno what cause this but i can get around this by disabling nView Desktop Manager and the second screen comes up with 10x7 as with my primary monitor. Try to turn it back on later if you wish
I think if you want dual screans you must have 2 LCDs that both suport the dual DVI inputs.
you cant have dual: 1x CRT and 1x LCD
Let me make this more clear: You cant have a dual DVI scren set up even if you use a DVI adaptor on one of your monitors!
Both monitors MUST be DVI (out of the box) as in the monitor needs no DVI adaptors at all!
Thus your problem is not a software "enable this" or "click this button" problem its simply you dont have the hadware to run Dual DVI monitors.
I personally dont see the point of going dual screan unless your are a multi tasking nuff nuff.
I have a dual DVI set up 1 x LCD displays what is under my microscope the other LCD displays Windows etc. Or 1 x LCD for TV the other LCD for windows. When I play games I just use one LCD at a time its not like you can make your game super wide screen.
Yes you can use dual view with any monitor I have pic somewhere here second is you need to make your option to use seperate resolution and next is to snap edges to 100 pic than you will not have any problems
I agree, in fact I am using a similar set up right now. Just use dualview and you should be able to set independent resolutions and color depths for each monitor. The more advanced controls would be in your display settings>advanced>Nvidia tab. You should be able to configure everything manually from there. Play around with it for a while, see what you like. It sometimes takes a bit of fiddling, but it'll work right for you after a while.
I have a very similar problem. My setup is two DVI LCD monitors, however, and dual view does not work. I have the Gigabyte 7600GT card with Silent Pipe II. It works fine otherwise, but the Gigabyte home page is just not very helpful. I've done the BIOS update (to the F12 version which is supposed to have working dual view) and I have the latest NVIDIA forceware drivers and it makes no bit of difference.
Has anyone solved this problem? I can't believe I'm alone in this.
Never mind. I returned the card to the store and bought an Asus 7600GS with 512Mb memory instead (also silent and with dual outputs). It worked straight out of the box. That particular series of Gigabyte cards was faulty or something and Gigabyte support was crap. Asus is much better on the whole and it just works. Well, at least so far.
