my laptop has Win7 on it, and I let a few friends borrow it, but I don't let them take it out of the house, but I am still uncomfortable, can they Ghost the drive and install it on another computer, if they can is there a way to stop/disable this, I am worried that they can copy my OS and cause me problems like I do not want to think about
The only way they could do that is if they installed it on an identical computer.....now if you have credit card info or any other private data they could steal that I suppose.
Dont worry about your copy of Windows. But if you want to let "shady" people use your computer simply create a guest account with limited privileges.....Start / Control Panel / User Accounts. Also in the same place you can make sure you as administrator have a password protecting your account.
Get new "friends" ?

Don't worry about your friends ghosting your machine with your copy of Windows 7. Unless sysprepped and then ghosted properly (you have to do both properly, and it's not difficult to screw up either part), the ghost image won't work anyway.
