I'd say the 7900gts the best for the money out of those. Theres a few threads about oblivion benchmarks around here somewhere on the forum so they might give you a better idea. The firing squad ones are the best theres a high end one with those cards in and a more recent mid range test.

In order of best to worst. You buy what you can afford.

1900xtx
7900gtx
1900xt
1800xtx
7900gt

These are the TOP 5 graphic cards out right now. Get these if you can.

Duck you fool, you havve no idea that the Evga 7900gt easily can overcome the performance compared to the x1800xt 512mb??
While you get 2X 7900gt in SLI the performance is amzing, you of all have no knowledge of the 7900gt, you underestimate its performance.
I have to say that is pretty embaressing

1900xtx
7900gtx
1900xt
1800xtx
7900gt

The 1900XTX and XTX only havea 1-3 fps difference at the same settings. Please check the 1900 Series evaluation at HARDOCP.com, or anywhere else, including the Oblivion firesquad performance review. The 1900XT is only 1-3 fps slower than the 1900XTX in oblivion and smokes the 7900GTX in every oblivion setting. The 1900XTX is simply a oc version of a 1900XT. Please get your facts right.

1900xtx/XT
7900gtx
1800xtx
7900gt
7800GTX

And the 1800XT 512mb is better than a 7900GT, and yes I do own a 7900GT, so I know its limits. Its a good card but not some unbeatable killer card.

"...i know 400$ is a steal but i live in greece "

I used to live in Greece when in the USAF, near Hellenikon Air Base (outskirts of Athens, near Glyfada and Astir beach); lived there from '83-'86! A very pretty country!

Yasoo! :)

You will see a huge difference between a 6800U and 7900GTX in oblivion. But it's true, the X1800XT is even better than the 7900GTX for that game. And the X1900XTX is currently the single best Oblivion card.

Based on your pricing, the 7900GTX for only $50 more is the way to go. In the USA, the 7900GT is much cheaper than the GTX and the better bang for buck card. Although I am an oblivion nut who would buy a X1800XT instead; priced the same or cheaper for us than the 7900GT with way better Oblivion perfomance. They are pretty equal cards overall, but not for Oblivion.

I'd kinda be embarassed to attack with such bold yet general statments. How much of an overclock will it take to easily overcome this difference? It's the only game the OP mentioned BTW.

I agree a super clocked evga makes up the difference and I'd call it a tie overall with both cards splitting victories. Pretty lame to take the highest clocked card though when making 7900GT/X1800XT comparisons. Is that evga one of the few that newegg has even had in stock or is it one of the 10 that is always out of stock?

The 7900GT's do have great OC potential. But OC all you want, certian games it will not win. We have been through this over and over lately; It will totally depend on the games a person wants to play as to which is better between X1800XT vs. 7900GT. There is no universal better card. But at stock speeds the X1800XT wins more often than it would lose. And someone has to decide if shader intensive D3D superiority will be worth more than better OGL perfomance down the road. I know my answer.

No question in my mind if I can sell my EVGA 7800GT CO, I'd buy either a $310 X1800XT 512MB or a $450 X1900XTX to replace it. Based on current prices and the games that matter to me, it would be an easy decision on my part not to go 7900 series.
