How bad is turning off UAC?

To install the scalix connector for windows 7 we have to turn off UAC i understand that this will also disable virtualization. Will this impact a users performance? And what if any are issues that we might run into by disabling UAC?
Should we turn UAC back on?

Turning UAC off doesn't affect the ability to run a virtual machine. The biggest issue is that anyone who uses an administrative account will always have administrative privileges and so any rogue malware or malicous web links s/he happens to click on will instantly infect your system. But if everyone who normally uses the system has a standard, non-privileged account (which is the way they should be working) then that won't be an issue.
