Bidirectional Communication

I'm trying to connect a Xerox Docuprint C8 to my PI Computer. Printing results in an error which says that bidirectional communication is not allowed on my PC. Can the printer not work on my PC? Is there a way I could correct the problem?

On your PC enter into the BIOS and make sure the parallel port is set to Bi-directional or ECP or EPP mode.
