All the screen grabs from ultimate terrain look great! But what is the
resolution like at say 2000 feet or less.
Also, I just bought USA Roads. Will they work together or does UT take
the place of USA Roads.

From what I have read, the UT for USA contains roads and although the data
comes from a different source than USA Roads, it is just as detailed and
accurate as USA Roads.

1. UT incorporates the functionality of USA Roads. All but a very small
minority will basically disable USA Roads altogether; see
http://www.simforums.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=12143&PN=1

2. Flying low will be the same as before. (It differs in this from
satellite photosceneries -- those look best when viewed 3,500-5,000
AGL.)

UT is a fantastic program. USA Roads integrates seamlessly and it also
gives you a discount of 15%.
You can choose roads in UT or USA Roads. USA Roads would be better though.
Keep this in mind though. It's not realistic scenery, just realistic
terrain data.

.... there came a great Festus <Festus@home.net> flying, and he bore
tidings beyond hope, crying:

there's no "resolution" as such ... you get tons of roads, railroads,
better coastlines, lakes, rivers and nice night-lighting!
the resolution of the textures stays the same of course.

For some of the local roads that I've noticed inaccurate depictions for
years in other mapping software (obviously same source) as well as USA
Roads, UT has rectified lots of inconsistancies. But as others have
reported, there are areas where one or the other is superiour for that
particular locale...
