Battlefield 2 Com Update

You'd think it'd have a better website, but I guess not.

The community update already banned a bunch of people for the first week of the game for hacking the demo'd server. While modding is good and all, more problems come from it than good - at least that's my experience. I like the play the game how it was intended. While zero gravity, big heads, and stuff are cool, that should be isolated from the other stuff. When modding starts, hacking starts, and it spreads.

America's Army v2.4 moved to the UR engine.. within hours hacks were everywhere. While the game's play improved initially.. the game now sucks because the extensive amount of hacking going on.

Sorry, but you can't trust the gaming community to increase the gaming experience. Game developers have to be able to create a worthwhile game.

BF1942 had problems with people doing stupid things to each other on the same team.. I hope they eliminate that or at least.. Friendly Fire should be turned on with some kind of penalty for killing a friendly. In AA for example, kill a teammate in the first 30 seconds, you're booted from the game. If you get so much ROE (rules of engagement, points against you for attacking teammates) you're booted from the game. After 7 series of games, the ROE is removed.

I hope BF2 encorporates something like this. While someone can still cause problems, they do it once and they're going. Then they have to rejoin.. but it'll get old for them and it won't last.

Just my 2 cents..

RANT in progress!!

1.EA GAMES BATTLEFIELD 2 WEBSITE

EA could care less as long as they get your money we had to fight to get a linux server for it!!

2.BANNED for hacking the demo server.

A. There has been absolutly no one banned for hacking they have simply delisted servers that are smart enough to read a simple text file and eliminate the timelimit and unlock weapons which does not matter on a unranked server anyway which is what you have if your running your own server.(anyone who uses the in game gamespy browser is a moron anyway its the biggest piece of crap ea has included in their games in a while.)

B.MODDING and hacking are two diffrent things do a little research before you post that kind of garbage
(so i take you never heard of desert combat, galactic conquest or even dc_final all mods that have nothing to do with hacking.)

3.america's army
never played it so no opion on it sounds like counter strike problems

4.What are you talking about if it wasnt for the gameing comunity bf1942 would have died a long time ago see 2b above.

5.then what the **** are you doing playing on a server that has ff on then if you dont want tk'ed play somewhere else.
a. ff is on if they can kill you idiot!!
b.then learn the console commands then thats what they are for (game.TKPunish "player #")
6.if they are morons enough to try to ruin the game for the players by tk'ing then they are going to keep rejoining the server just to be a a**

The fix for everything your moaning about is admins and a ban list. I know all my ip bans from bf42,dc,gc,eod,bfv,poe,dc_final are going right into my bf2 banlist i even have whole subnet masks banned let alone the clan tags i had banned.

What NICKNAME where you planning on useing in BF2 so we can get it out of the way now?

OK RANT OVER

everything your complaining about can be fixed very easly provided you take the time to figure some simple things out.
tk's if you get tk'ed alot on a certain server and admin's wont do anything about it then play somewhere else problem solved. You need to do a little research on your word useage you call a modder a hacker and pretty sure you will be banned from his server.

You're a F***ing moron with a capital F.

First off, 'banned for the first week'.. sorry I didn't use the word "delisted" but might as well be banned.

They had to hack the files to change the time limit according to the article on EA's website - You're a big time idiot... you just amazed me with being so stupid.

I played BF1942 for a long time. I prefer FF ON - read my post ya 4 year old idiot.

Modding and hacking are different, but when you start to release all the game info out, more hacks come out.

America's Army had very little hacks until they switched over to UT's engine, then all the hacks came out. No mods were allowed in the game. If you even put a mask on your character, you'd get kicked from the game. AA released an official Tweak guide for those who wanted to modify the game to make it run better.

Let me reassure you of one thing: You're an idiot. Don't post here unless you have something worthwhile.

I can sit around and punish players all I want, but if no one else jumps in, it won't do any good. America's Army has a ROE system, kill enough friendlies, you're out of the game. I find it a very effective method of keeping people from screwing around excessively. Maybe you should learn to read and understand before you bother posting. Even try playing AA to understand what I'm even talking about.

As far as Admins? Most of the Official servers, the admins were screwing around and ruining the game because they had the power to. A lot of times you'd find a good game, a lot of times you wouldn't. It does start to suck when the admin of a server is ruining the game for everyone.

Oh yeah, you're an idiot.

Everything I said could be fix, but will it? Probably, most likely, not.

My whole post was with the intention to show that within a few days, people already screwed around, changed the game to exploit the limit that EA imposed on the demo. That already goes to show that someone out there is already looking for a way to ruin the game. Hack the time, how long until other hacks come out that everyone will soon have? Kudos to EA for 'delisting' the servers. I think they need to step in more and take more of an aggressive role in removing that stuff from select servers. If you want a private server like that fine, whatever. You go play on a server where 20 of the 64 people are just there to bother you or ruin the game.

Now, STFU Noob. Your post bothers me because of how stupid you sound and the lack of reading my post to understand what I was saying before your little 'rant.'

PS - Where do you see me saying Modding is Hacking? I stated "When modding starts, hacking starts." I don't say they're the same at any point, just coincide with each other. Read my original post over, then go away.

Get yourself some David Hasslehoff porn and a pair of rubber gloves. That's a good way of passing an afternoon.

Or you're welcome to borrow my Oprah Yeast Infection magazine. The centrefold has some particularly nice shots of her yellowish offensive discharges.

 I'm the good time that was had by all

in regards to both you

a good game server and quality online gaming can be maintained in most games as long as there are respectable and QUALITY admin's around the majority of the time to deal with issues as they arise.

a good admin does NOT use any of the tools he's got unless absolutely necessary. if you see admins on servers changing maps for fun. kicking for fun, being overal crude. get off that server. there will be more trouble than fun.

I've been playing Counterstrike for about 5 years on this one server that took time and effort to pick admins and they had strick guidelines to follow. the gaming was intensily fun and cheaters / hackers were dealt with promptly.

BF2 will follow this way... it might take some time due to it being new. but it'll work out.

I'm excited for the game.. havnt had a chance to get a copy yet

Exactly.. you need good admins which are hard to find.

BF1942 had it's problems with admins not always resolving problems.

I picked up my BF2 the day after it came out and I have yet to install it since I've been so busy with stuff.. now I'm going to NYC for a week for work so it has to wait even longer now.

In America's Army they have ROE, Rules of Engagement. Games last 10 minutes or until all are dead. If you kill a teammate in the first 30-45 seconds of the game, you get booted. Contact with the enemy will normally start within the first 30 seconds, but you shouldn't be killing your teammates since they're all normally in sight still.
You play a series of 7 games. Once you accumlate 400 roe within 7 games, you're out the door. After 7 games, it resets. You can kill someone accidently, so you get 100 ROE. You could kill a teammate when they turn a corner and you gun them down. You might get 280 roe. You might wing them.. so you'd get 20 roe. But if you intentionally TK, you get the boot and can't join that server for a few minutes. If you TK from a distance it's more acceptable and won't kick you because chances are you did mistake them for an enemy. If you're up close and can easily identify them, you're probably getting booted.

I wish more games would use this kind of rule.. I love playing with FF on because it creates a true challenge. Instead of dropping 10 bombs on a group of your guys and the enemy.. and only the enemy dying.. that's kind of stupid. I like that extra little challenge.

I agree with ya. CS:S for the most part allows different MOD's to be in place which allows for highly customizable ruleset.

most good servers and admins will install one that does some sort of thing like that.

most of the servers i play on will have FF on. and control it decently. if a player Team attacks within the first 30 seconds they're instantly slayed and have to wait out the round. and usually after 4 tk's they're banned from the server.

it works fairly well, but there are always a few asspirates who circumvent it and drive people mad. this is where good admins come into play.

I basically only play on official or EA servers. I remember playing BF1942 and sitting on the Aircraft Carrier waiting for a plane or a boat.. some engineer would put a explosive pack by you and detonate it, sending you into the air and your death when you landed in the water. That's why I'd rather see FF On.. so that stuff doesn't happen, plus it'll keep people from just holding down the trigger and shooting into a crowd.. they'll have to take aim..
If you keep killing a teammate, you get the boot or you have to wait out so long in the game.

Admins are great.. but they're not always around.. admins normally have absolute power..which absolutely corrupts.

I don't care to play on Modded maps, etc. I'd like them to be adopted on official servers.. because while the quality is good.. I don't care to play on servers that are modding things cause you never know what else is getting changed.

I am still waiting on that nickname so can show you what a ban is rather than just a delisting in gamespy. Actually your pb guid would be better. That way i can make sure all the servers and game hosting companies i run never have to deal with you. and yes riser is already banned user name in 216 bf2 servers already.

Please don't threaten me, oh godly one of the BF servers! I'm seriously shaking at my computer desk because of all the power you have.. Are you going to block me from turning on my computer next!?

Get a life.. people like you need to get a personality and go outside more often. You should realize there is life outside of sitting behind your computer and threatening to ban people because you're a f***ing basement dwelling moron.
