I have an eVGA 7800GT CO SE. When I go to eVGA's website, the latest ForceWare driver is 81.98. When I go to nVidia's website, it is 84.21 (obviously newer). Is it OK to use the drivers directly from nVidia or should I be waiting until eVGA packages it in an eVGA "wrapper" on their website?

You should use the latest at least according to EVga. I have spoken to them far to much of the last week and they suggested 84.21.

BUT...EVga just put up a new driver for NVidia at their site. One that I read they developed, 84.56.

I am using that one now.

I have that update. I ran a few benchmarks and I lost some performance. It happens with some updates but I'm going to roll mine back.
