is it possible to overclock a usb port?
what would be the pros and cons of it.
and if there is a way can someone please explain how it can be done?

HEhehe, there is nothing to OC a usb. NOt possible, simply no way.
It doesnt have nothing to do with your sysem operations and running your precious PC.
It is possible to slow down a usb 2.0 to a usb 1.1 speed.

Like I said, there is no such thing as a stupid question.

Your question, while not "stupid" shows that you don't "know" hardware. USB speed is established by industry standards groups' "agreement" and all hardware mfgr's design chip(s) to meet the established "standard". So, USB speeds are locked-in period, end of story.
Regarding DPI resolution for pointing devices, again that's specific to each mfg'r and their designs ... meaning that you can't change it.
Not really increasing the clockspeed of the USB, it just talks with the device more. Lots of the Razer mice do it natively, makes them more responsive.
