What is really depressing is the ratio of what he actually paid and that number you came up with ($40 per game). Btw, if you don't mind playing games a few months after they're released, you can at least halve that $40, which is a legal way of cutting costs.

Agreed on both accounts. The "have" list should = the "own" list. Not a popular opinion I realize.

Personally, few games are worth the $40-$50 price range, so I often wait for a game to hit the $9.99-$19.99 range. Downloading and "borrowing" them are not acceptable options (for me).

borrowing an origional copy is perfectly legal and moraly correct. 99% of all games cant be played without the cd now anyway unless its cracked. so if your freind is done with the game he can let you borrow it and you are not breaking any agreements.

OK, I can see that. But that's not exactly the type of "borrowing" I was referring to this time.

I buy used PC games and save dough! I only had to return CS because the key was in use, shocking!!!! When I bought Fart Cry recently, it came with 2 game manuals, hence, 2 key codes. The same thing happened with UT2K4 when I bought it New...there were 2 key code stickers in the case. Thanks Atari!

Well, just so long as you don't let any of this bite into your beer budget. We'd hate to hear about that. Priorities, priorities, priorities.

Personally, I'm not hurting for money where I need to save 20 dollars like that.
Most of my friends who play purchase the game normally around the start of it also, so it's something to do instead of listening to their stories.

Most of the games that have come out lately require a valid key to play online.. using a crack won't work. So I just buy the game. Now I could borrow someone's and play while they're not online, but that doesn't do me much good when we both want to play.

On top of that, I don't go out buying games every week as Orb does.. (joke).. When I buy a game, normally it's a game worth investing my money into.

I just picked up BF2 today. The last game I purchased since this one.. World of Warcraft. Before that? Warcraft 3. I haven't played BF2, but WoW and W3 definately were worth the money until time became a constraint for me.

is BF2 worth it in a single player capacity? I like to play BF with DC mod and BFV as single player every now and then but only get to play em in lans against people.

Is the BF2 worth it for offline play or should I hold on till a lan and just leech it?

I haven't had time to get my new computer up and running. I think tonight I'll be able to get it set up though so I can at least install BF2. I haven't played yet and I'm not really aware of what, if any, kind of single player is in it.

I can't remember the last game I bought that wasn't based around online play. There are a few games but I get bored because the AI hasn't really evolved to be a strong opponent yet.

haha mr. money bags. I haven't found that many games that I'm interested in. I tried stronghold but that was.. bah.

Total War games.. boring.. too slow for me. I don't want something that takes up all day to accomplish one small thing.
