HI, I'm planing to build acompletely new rig using this mobo, I was wondering what You fellow forum members do You think about it? I found it for $220(at the begining it was $270 lol ....I waited a bit for the price to drop  ...and I originally planned to get the p5wd2 premium...but that was a while ago, with the older chipset  ) I heard many good things about it, and couple bad reviews, but most of them were good.
Im not so mutch interested in coing, the build will be my first one, and as such i prefer not to experiment with it much...for now

Thank You for all suggestions, and thoughts.

You probably want to wait for awhile, maybe till Conroe realease or something. Since Conroe "will most likely" come on LGA775, but requires i975X with a modified VRM (You have i975X chipset).

Just my two cents

so i guess ill buy that wd2e premium lol ...i keep postponing my build further and further lol i began research ing some components in october 05 lol, ....but maby its beter, with vista/directx10/R680 comming out , the nowedays top hardware will be "a bit junky" with vista's dx10 games, so i gues it will be beter to hang on for that next 8 to 12 months with my oldie system

I was on ebay there was a guy who was selling Conroe cpu:s before the release anyway he said it wont work on P5WD2-E Premium they tested it without any sucess, only worked on intels. Read on the following link for more info go further down on the page where ebay members ask questions.

Asus will probably release a BIOS update in order for the motherboard to support Conroe...
