Floopy Drive Seeks at Shutdown

I have win 98 where the floppy drives comes on the seek for 3 seconds
at shutdown. How can this be stopped or prevented.

Probably your Antivirus program. If it's Norton, open Norton, go to
Options, expand Auto-Protect, and choose Advanced. Uncheck the option to
scan floppy disk on shutdown.
There are similar options in the other antivirus apps.

Put a floppy in, when you get a message like:
'Remove floppy before shutdown', it's your virusscanner. Search in the
scanner settings to disable it.
