DVI to VGA or VGA to VGA ?

Which one give more better result :

DVI output + DVI to VGA adapter --> CRT Monitor or
VGA output --> CRT monitor ?

Provided the VGA cable and DVI-2-VGA addapter/cable are equal quality, there shouldn't be a difference. If one setup has gold contacts and much better shielding ...

I think that VGA to VGA (i.e. going from vga port strait to monitor VGA port) would be better only because of 1 less failure point. The Picture would be unaffected but there is always that slim chance that your DVI adpator is bad.

Agreed, the signal will be the same, the only issue is one more connection to worry about adding noise to.

VGA-VGA better idea IMO.

should make no difference, since DVI outs have analogue outs too.. i do wonder though, if they make so much effort making the analogue interface as high quality as one that was VGA only... (since DVI is intended as the primary output)
