Dual Screen on Laptops

I was wondering if it is possible to get a video/graphics card (external if possible) that will allow dual screen to run at the same time. I like to use CAD to do some of my work and have been used to using dual screens for a while now. At my new job though they use laptops and I am not sure if there is a way to get an external dual screen video card for it.

Most laptops have a vga port, just plug in your monitor and set it up in the laptops video driver and your good to go.
