Which RAM for Athlon 64 X2?

I'm looking at purchasing the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ processor with the Toledo core, and using it with the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium MoBo.

My question is, what's the fastest speed of RAM I could use with this setup? I understand I can only use DDR1 RAM with the AMD, but then I read that this MoBo is rated for DDR 400 (PC 3200). Can't I use DDR 500 with this?

Any suggestions?

Just stick with PC 3200 it really won't make the much of a difference.
I have the X2 4400+ myself and I use 2 Gigs of PC 3200. look at the new AM2
it supports DDR2 but from the bechmarks you can't even tell the difference
from DDR1. I say that it's the ammount of RAM the really matters.
He's right It will take that RAM but since the MB supports PC3200 it will
will run it at the speed of PC 3200. If you want to use the ram at that speed
it would also overclock your Processor. If your goal is to overclock then use DDR 500 just adjust the speed of the RAM.
Asus A8N SLI Premium
X2 4400+ Toledo
2 Gigs Corsair XMS
X1900XT 512 MB
Creative XFI
550watt PSU
250 Gig Seagate HD

If you don't want to OC your processor you just turn up the HTT speed and lower the CPU multiplier.

10 x 200 MHz HTT = 2000 MHz CPU speed
9 x 222 MHz HTT = 1998 MHz CPU speed
8 x 250 MHz HTT = 2000 MHz CPU speed

Then again, he might as well overclock since the same settings are involved.
