Hello,my mother uses wordpad mainly but has been unable to open any documents
or enter wordpad at all.when trying to enter wordpad all that comes up is
that wordpad has performed an illegal function and has to close.I would
appreciate any help as to repair wordpad.she has windows 98 SE

Windows setup
Accessories
Details
Untick Wordpad and OK your way out.
Now repeat the above but *tick* Wordpad.

If you can get more detail on the exact error message, it would help,
but try this:
Many errors in Wordpad are fixed by removing this key in the Registry
with Regedit:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current
Version\Applets\Wordpad
A restart may be necessary.
