Wanadoo's policy on Winmx users ?

Archived from groups: microsoft.public.win98.gen_discussion,wanadoouk.help.misc (More info?)

....Does anybody know what Wanadoo's policy is on coughing up reverse DNS
searches to legal authorities / music industry b******s etc., that march
into Wanadoo and demand such information ?

I suppose it's too much to hope that Wanadoo tells them all to F**K OFF !
:-)

....and does anybody know how long Wanadoo retains records of its'
subscribers internet activities ?

regards, Richard

I don't *know* but I think the situation is that if an authority comes
along with times/dates/IPs and requests the information, they have a duty
to give out such information - although it may be that a legal warrant
(search warrant) signed by a judge may be needed.

Apart from legal challenges, I think there's nothing that Wanadoo could
    actually do!

If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will say so!

Correction... he's just told me that he hasn't got the 2004 CD yet, as it's
not released until later in the month!
