2.4 P-4, running on a asus p4-533S with a st340014a barracuda HD, 440 MX
nVIDIA VIDEO CARD, 512 DDR build 2600 sp-2. When I restart my computer, it
starts with different desktoip, forgets my mail server settings, and seems
to be a different computer. When starting, it gives me the windows startup
screen the the monitor cuts off for a few seconds (goes into power-saving
mode), then starts with the wrong settings. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.

All i can think of trying is go to your user account in
the control panel and select your account , see if that
will bring back your setting ... Also try going into safe
mode and see whats up there
