If I buy this hard drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16822144122 will my mother board be able to hook up to it? I don't know what it means at NewEgg when it says that the interface is "IDE Ultra ATA100". My current hard drive plugs into sockets in the motherboard like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/29/ATA_on_mainboard.jpg and it uses cables to plug into the motherboard that looks like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/26/ATA_cables.jpg

I would be less confused if it did not say use the word "Ultra" in the interface description. I am pretty sure my motherboard can handle IDE connections, but the "Ultra" word is confusing me and making me scared that my motherboard won't be able to support the hard drive.

Thanks for the help!

ATA100 HD will/should work with your computer.

It requires a 80 conductor cable to utilize the ATA100 speed.

Asus normally labels their cables for HD or CD.

You did not say how old your computer is. If over 5 yrs you may need a BIOS upgrade to reconize the HD.
