I did a hardware search and, apparently, the Soundblaster Pro driver is
missing. I was asked to load my Win98SE CD-ROM so that msopl.drv might be
installed. When I was told the file was not found, I did a search of the
Win98SE CD-ROM and it did not show up.

Looking at the MS website, they suggest that this is one of the DirectX
files (it's listed as such), but when I searched in the DirectX directory,
it wasn't there as well.

Apparently, there is a place you can purchase it. But why?

Can someone explain why I am being asked to supply this driver and why it
cannot be found?

Thanks,

Ken

It must be on the 98 CD. I see it in my "all files" expaned 98
directory.

It's in the Driver16.cab file for both Windows 98 and Windows 98SE.
