hpsjvxd.vxd is hardly a "nonsense filename" Hewlett Packard ScanJet VXD"
(Virtual Device Driver), and anyone who's been around computers much
will have seen, if not that file, any number of similarly named files
from HP.
While your advice might be reasonable in a *very* general way, a simple
Google search would have turned this one up in an instant. (Doesn't hurt
to read the existing responses to a post before replying, either.) Most
people, if they think about it for a few seconds, probably have
*something* that isn't running quite right on their systems. Lots of
people I've run into don't even realize anything *is* wrong until you
point it out, typically responding that, "I never could figure that
out." Or, "I thought maybe it was *supposed* to be that way."
The proper t-shooting method is to find out what you can about the
components involved in any error message, and then apply that knowledge
to your system and see how it fits.
