I have had a Compaq Aero 1500 for several years, and have just began to
use it. I have noticed that it works wonderfully whenever it is
connected to the AC adapter, but when I try running it off battery
power, it won't work. I have plugged it in for several hours to make
sure the battery is fully charged, but it s still doesn't work.
The battery charging light will come on and blink (indicating it is
supposedly charging) when I plug it in. After 2 minutes or so, the
indicator light turns solid to show that it's supposedly done. But, for
some reason it doesn't charge. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you in advance.

If you have had it for "several years" the battery is likely finished. They
can only be recharged a finite number of times.
The cost of replacing my iPaq battery with a real Compaq was so much that I
a) tried having a third party battery fitted: useless and b) discarded it
(good excuse) for an O2.
