Hi All,

I need a little bit of advise regaridng my next project. I'm hoping to cheaply build a silent (ish) PC using a Centrino / Pentium M / P4 M processor, maybe using a passive heatsink and a 12v Micro Power Supply. I don't need loads of power, I want to mimic my normal desktop system ie. P4 2.4 or similar.

I'm not sure really what the best options are but below is a list of the things i'm considering.....

Asus MB P4C800 with a Adapter to use Socket 479 CPU.
Micro PSU like this one... http://www.mini-box.com/s.nl/sc.8/category.13/it.A/id.300/.f

Has anyone ever build a similar rig. What CPU did you use?
Is it possible to use this Micro PSU to power the MB. I'm also considering another PSU to power the HD and CD's...

Thoughts ??

buy a core duo. they arent that expensive and run like comperably clocked AMDs at much lower temps, not to mention they are dual core unlike the pentium m. You will also require a socket 479 motherboard (not 478) such as this one.
I currently have a T2500 in my new laptop and runs circles most of the rest of the processors I've ever owned (see my sig, I think it is the top link).
