Im looking for a decent AMD x2, 2gb RAM and a decent video card. Also, any good DVD-RW that wont make me go over budget. If you could tell me a good CPU cooling fan that would be great! :D .

Do you have any parts that you can take of another comp like a harddrive of monitor cuz if so 1000 can build you something pretty good.

3800x2
2 gigs g skill ram
ASUS mobo
7600gt and still room for more

Okay here's my input.

Mobo:

ASUS A8N5X Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX AMD Motherboard $80

CPU:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ Manchester 2000MHz HT 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket 939 Dual Core Processor $300

Memory:

G.SKILL Extreme Series 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 500 (PC 4000) Dual Channel $160
Grahics card:

XFX PV-T71G-UCE7 Geforce 7900GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 VIVO PCI Express x16 Video Card 520Mhz core 1500Mhz memory clock $330

A bad ass gaming system = priceless :D

That's $870 and I don't know about the rest. But this is a good set up though I can tell you that. I don't know if you have an old case and psu. Or are you building it from the ground up excluding the monitor and other input devices?

I dont mind about the hd, and dvd-rw that much. I don't really care about the accessories just about the comp specs and stuff. By the way Thanks alot guys!

I would add a good sound card like the SB XFi which is about $115.00 or $129. @ newegg it is listed @ $106

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT WASTE 120 ON A SOUND CARD FOR A COMP THAT YOU ARE GOING TO SPEND 1000 ON.

It has nothing to do with performance

I would make a few changes from this.

1) Change the motherboard to Asus A8N-E. You only spend $13 more and you gain the NF4 Ultra chipset which gains you better performance and SATA II.

2) For $27 more consider the Opteron 165. Double the cache and much greater overclock potential.

3) Video card is fine unless you can find an X1800XT with a rebate for less.
