okay i was on newegg and i noticed they now have socket 754 chips with a 1600 ht, or something like that. What is the diff between these and the ones with 800fsb. IT's kind of cool because it means my socket 754 setup can be used a little longer i guess. Would someone explain the diff between the 2 fsb's. thanks.

Newegg is a little weird in their descriptions.

All Socket 754 AMD64 CPU's have an 800MHz FSB which is Full Duplex, which means it goes up and down at once, so it gives you a 1,600MHz FSB effective. Now, some people dismiss the 2nd and just say it's 800MHz FSB, but if you go like that, you cut the bandwidth in half and it is nothing, so one MUST include the 2nd Duplex in the performance due to the link width (the size of the FSB) is 1/2 that of the P4.
