I've got an extra vid card (eVGA nvidia 6600 GT), which is one way I'm able to achieve this. Is this going to be quiet enough for a HTPC? My plan doesn't involve OC'ing, so no extra case fans, planning on using the stock HSF. I also want componentry that will last at least 2 or 3 years.

System Configuration is all good for HTPC. Only one problem.. is that video card.
Sell your video card and get an ATI X1300 ALL IN WONDER. This video card is specialize for HTPC, and compatible with Windows Media Center 2005 with controller included.come built with TV TUNER and RADIO TUNER. Experience ATI AVIVO view your movie files in HD. Also has HD out put.
